SSE cards, as suggested by George Namcam, are 'no longer available' according to the Daystar website. Unless anyone out there knows different...

As already mentioned by someone else the no longer available SSE version of the Carrier card was for the Apple & Power Tower Pro machines with 6 PCI slots. These machines unlike the Umax 6 slot machine had issues with G4 upgrades. Only the top two PCI slots worked with PCI cards with a G4 upgrade installed. XLR8/ Daystar came up with a software fix for this issue. So no longer any reason to make more then the original Carrier card. The software fix is included in the XLR8/Daystar Mach Speed Control software free with G3/4 or carrier cards.
For the record the discontinued Mpe Carrier card was the one with problems which were never solved. It was for using two G4 Zifs for multiprocessing. The failure of this card was one of the reasons XLR8 went out of business (for a while).
Do listers have any experience of/opinions on the Daystar Mach G3 carrier for ZIF cards? Are they OSX compatible (the Daystar website is unforthcoming)?

Short answer one of the very best CPU's for older Macs & Clone machines. Yes, they work fine in both OS 9 and OSX. See my recent post " Re: Opinion with a Powerlogix... " for more info on my long term use of the XLR8/ Daystar Carrier card. Will S
