On my s900 I have a drive partitioned into 3 parts. One is an 8 gig partition for the OSX with the 8 gig problem. One is a large partition with an OS 9.1 system folder, and the other is a large partition with an OS8.6 system folder. I run these different systems because I have some hardware and software issues with some of my old stuff that requires one or the other system. With the 8 gig limit on the OSX partition, I have had to store some of the video and audio files that I use in OSX on the other partitions. Now I need to run some kind of disk utility on these drives and optimize them. If I use Norton 5 on the OSX drive, it is my understanding that it screws up the system. No problem. But what if I run it on the other partitions? Can I use it to fix the files on them without damaging the OSX files? Can I use it to optimize the drives? If not, is there a utility program that will work for this?

PS It is good to be back on the list. My ISP was blocking the SM list because I accidentally added it to the block sender list. I immediately realized my mistake, but I could not seem to rectify the problem myself, and it took me a week to get it straightened out. Sorry about the several test posts I sent. I was trying to find out if I was back or still had problems. Seems that I could post, but wasn't able to receive.
