Robert,

I did as you suggested but still no video. I think I wasn't getting a chime w/
the original processor because the jumpers had been removed in order to use it
w/ a secondary processor. When I replaced the G4 w/ the primary and the
secondary plugged into one another I heard the chimes. However, switching
processors back and forth, at some point the chimes stopped sounding and I
don't know what's up w/ that. I also notice (and this has been going on for the
past couple days) that the CD-ROM drive is no longer responsive. Instead of
flashing a green light as it tries to read the mac OS 9.1 install CD in the
drive, the light stays on and glows orange. The tray will not eject w/ or w/o a
CD inside and I had to poke a paper clip through the tiny hole in the front of
the CD bay, as someone on the list suggested, to get the tray to slide open.
When I nudge the empty tray to close (w/ the computer on) it does not respond
and slide shut like it used to. I hear no activity at all from this drive nor
do I hear any from the floppy drive after inserting a diskette. The only
internal drive which still sounds alive is the SCSI which grinds for a bit when
I power up the computer.

Paul, I did reseat all my cards. And to respond to the other subscriber who
asked about my OS, it's OS9.2.2.

The fact that you didn't hear the startup chimes (when you reinstalled the
original processor) is significant. Leave the RAM out. With the power OFF take
out the original processor card, push the CUDA switch, put in your G4 processor
board and try to start up. If that doesn't work take out the G4 push the CUDA,
and put in the original processor card. Try to startup. If that doesn't work
take out the original card push the CUDA, put in the G4 and try to start up.
