I have had no problems using a Mac running Classic OS to flash
Millennium and Millennium II cards and they are compliant with OS9.x.
With the Millennium you need to ProgBios 3.01 to flash the card and
Driver 3.00; for the Millennium II, 1.31 and 1.30 respectively.
The critical part is to make sure that the Flash ROM is of a compatible
type. A fair proportion of M II were fitted with one by ST, marked
28F256 which cannot work, and any attempt to do so will damage the card.
Both M and M II cards with Flash ROMs by TI, AMD, CSI (Catalyst) type
28F010 will work successfully, although it was said that some
experimenters discovered that those by Intel failed to work, it is not
known if these failires were isolated occurances or due to the Intel
chip itself. There are rare instances where Flash ROM type 28F512 are
found and they will still work successfully.
