I have had to replace my S900 with a G5. He's been a good old workhorse,
but I've hit a problem I just can't fix. I have posted here and
everywhere and tried every suggestion but I just can't make him work.
So, I replaced him because I have a business to run.
Here's what I have:
S900
Sonnet processor upgrade
The original hard drive
(I have 2 other drives -- an 8gb and I can't remember the size of the
other but at least 8gb -- installed but hesitate to include them because
they still have all my data on them and can't find a way to access them
to erase.)
Extra memory and an extra motherboard
I pretty much maxed him out as much as I could several years ago.
I ran into a problem where he wouldn't boot up -- no response at all.
Then I acquired a new motherboard, and now he'll light up the screen and
ask for the startup disk, but I cannot for the life of me get him to
recognize any of the hard drives, or the CD drive. I had to give up and
buy a new system.
Someone with more knowledge and time may be able to get him up and
running. Or use him for parts.
