Possibly you have a damaged "Wrapper" on your Harddrive, a fairly
common problem. DiskWarrior can fix this. the wrapper is the file
that presents the drive (well not really, just let's you know it is
there) to a non HFS+ system. When it gets damaged the system can't
see the drive.
Get DiskWarrior, Well worth the money, particularly if you seem to be
losing multiple HDs.
I have the Norton Utilities, but whenever I used Norton on this
drive it would also hang.
NEVER, EVER, EVER use Nortons! [Spits over shoulder and gags].
Of the four WD drives I have owned this is the third dead one.
Since I went iTunes happy, last week, iTunes have gone from 20 gig
to 66 gig. The main drive drive in my new computer is 129 gig and I
figure I'm only halfway through recording my record collection.
It would sure be nice to have my music collection digital so my
Tivo could play it on my stereo.
My question it what is the maximum drive size an ata100 buss can
recognize, such as the Sonnet ata100 card or buss in an Apple G4?
132 Gb
Would a 200 gig be better in the computer or a firewire case?
More flexible and possibly faster on Firewire and Firewire gets
around the 132 Gb limit.
