What video card are you using? Does it use Apple drivers or Proprietary ones? It sure sounds like software corruption or an old driver issue. Paul C.

Not a new problem, for years now the Monitor Control Panel selected
resolution of 1400 X 768 will upon start up randomly revert to a single
