Hello Eric, > I've tried: > > Removing the Sonnet G4 card, pressing the CUDA switch, and replacing the card; > > Reinstalling the original UMAX processor card; >
Which Sonnet G4 card were you trying? I was never able to get their Crescendo/PCI G4 700mhz card to work in my J700. About 40-50 hours of testing forced us to conclude that it was incompatible with the motherboard. > Trying to start up from the UMAX system CD, with the original processor; > > Trying to start up with the Sonnet card and their Restore PRAM floppy. > > Same results everytime. Did you zap the PRAM first? I would strip the computer down to the bare, original essentials to get it working and then start adding things until you find what is making it flake out. -John -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
