I'm creating such an (bfg) application, but I'm just trying to connect to 
supervisor at startup via xmlrpc, and start it in a subprocess if it is 
stopped. 
My app can then start and stop supervisor, and killing the app doesn't kill 
supervisor. I believe it's the safest behaviour.
