She has been complaining that her "read" keep disappearing from her in-box without her deleting them. She closes the email window by clicking on the "x" on the window. So in her preferences, I turn on to keep email on the server and delete them ONLY when she actually deletes them. I did verify that her emails are indeed being deleted, by sending her an email, reading it and closing SM without deleting the email.
Make sure that the prefs aren't set to show only unread messages (View -> Messages -> All — IIRC, my SM is not in English).
