your SMTP (outgoing) settings. Mine is

That is for email, and doesn't apply.

According to SeaMonkey on description the setup panel in Preferences:

http://screencast.com/t/ZDc1YjEyM

you have POP3 for incoming Mail,
you have NNTP for incoming News
and you have SMTP that handles any traffic going out.

there is no mention of anything for other than sending messages (makes no distinction of whether for news or email)

however I've found these definitions:

NNTP see: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=mozilla&defl=en&q=define:NNTP&sa=X&ei=UnsXTOK6LcK78ga7jIGZCQ&ved=0CBEQkAE

SMTP see: http://www.google.com/search?q=define%3ASMTP&btnG=Search&hl=en&client=mozilla&sa=2

POP3 see: http://www.google.com/search?q=define%3APOP3&btnG=Search&hl=en&client=mozilla&sa=2
