That needs to be a user-choice.
Well, I'm not interested either, but you have the choice to just
browse the site with only session cookies. I did, with no problem.
But if you would like to play the games (the purpose with the site),
then you need the persisting cookie to sign in to an existing account
or create a new account, save your games, game progress, or high scores.
Of course they could explain it better. ;)
