I am having the same problem since I upgraded to SM 2.8 from Sm 2.7.2 and it is very annoying. I am using Win XP PRO and have never changed any fonts. The problem at times does not start at the onset of reading the messages I have in the newsgroup but all at once will start and then it is present in all mail not just the newsgroup. I have to shut down the composer and then restart it for it to go away but then it is back in due time.
