Since updgrading from sM 2.7.x to 2.8, I notice in newsgroups that I get
a 'wait icon' cursor when the cursor is anywhere outside of the message
text body. Doesn't matter which newggroup/newserver, and does not occur
when in the email window. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Screenshot of what I am talking about is here:

Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:11.0) Gecko/20120312
Firefox/11.0 SeaMonkey/2.8
But also happens with the Windows version.

I haven't been seeing this in the Mac version, but I am seeing an issue
where SM no longer automatically returns to Open state from Minimize to
Dock on opening a file from the Finder or clicking a link in an e-mail.
I've submitted a bug on that.

Sounds like there are some odd interface issues running around in 2.8,
apparently different ones for different platforms.

Rufus, this Mac problem of SM not re-opening from the Dock has been
mentioned in the last week or so and I seem to remember a
solution/work-around having been found.

Have you checked the posts here over the last week or fortnight or so??

Yes - I check here daily...don't recall it being mentioned. I don't see the wait cursor issue with my Macs.

But the issue of SM not fronting the Space in which is open is a new to observation for SM 2.8, to me. I suspect the two are related. If there's a workaround (other than additional clicking by the user) I'd like to know what it is.

Anyway, I've gone back to 2.7.2 and both problems are not present in that version.
