SM2.20 WinXP SP3 P4 3.0Ghz 2Gb
current version of Adobe Flash 11 is current

anyone else not able to view CNN video's ( see above)
the ad that runs prior to the video is Ok- other new video's Ok (BBC.com)

When I go to that link, I see the video of the advertisement. Then,
everything stops. This happens not only with my extensions but also in
safe mode.

I have tried spoofing Firefox/23. I have tried disabling AdBlock Plus.
I have tried enabling HTML5media. None of that helps.

D.E.R,
did you try erasing all cookies right after you did the spoofing and
disabling?

I just now tried it after erasing ALL cookies. (Fortunately, my
cookies.sqlite file is marked read-only.) .....

maybe refusing new cookies is the whole problem?
GW

Not only did I set my preference to allow ALL cookies, but I also
enabled Flash to write Web site data to my hard drive. I still cannot
see the news item, only the ad.

but doesn't your "cookies.sqlite file is marked read-only" contradict the SM preference to accept cookies?
