As I understand things, it is intended that when SM 2.45 is released,
it will include the Lightning/Calendar function as standard.

Will it be included just as the Browser and Mail & News functions are
included *OR* will it be included just as Chatzilla is included, i.e.
an Add-On that the User has to download separately and gets listed on
the Tools->Add-On Manager screen??

And, just as a By-the-By, now at SM 2.45 .... when, and WHY, might the
shift to SM 3.nn occur?? (Not that it really matters!!)

It will be bundled with SeaMonkey as an extension that the user can
disable, or remove from the Tools ➡ Add-on Manager screen. Probably
reinstalled when the next version of SeaMonkey is released. After all it
is being bundled with each release.

O.K., so, before I do the next SM upgrade (SM 2.40 to 2.45), I'll have
to check what version of Chatzilla I have installed ... to see if it,
too, is updated!

The version of Chatzilla in 2.48a1 is version 0.9.92. Chatzilla,, DOM
Inspector and SeaMonkey Debug and QA UI already come bundled with a
fresh install of SeaMonkey using a Linux tarball.

0.9.92 is the same version my SM 2.40 has .... guess that's the most up-to-date!
