Thanks.  Don't normally use Sidebar.  Did notice that whatever I change it to in
the Sidebar, it remains DuckDuck in the Edit/Preferences/Browser/Internet 
Search box


How I solved this in Windows 2.46:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Browser > Internet Search

Click on Manage Search Engines...

Delete every option but your search engine of choice in the pick-list. That engine will be the new default.

Clicking on Restore Defaults, afterwards, will restore the list but won't change the default.
