In the olden days... one used to move the x from the far right onto each individual tab by adjusting an ABOUT:CONFIG setting... my memory banks are dusty...

maybe someone remembers what we set this one to?

browser.tabs.closeButtons;3

Sean according to http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config_entries#Browser. you want that set to 1

That page lists the operations for 0, 1, 2 and 3.

I just used the SeaTab extension:

<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/seatab-x-2/?src=api>

It says not compatible with 2.49.3 but it working on my browser/ May have to tweak install.rdf maxVersion value to install.
