I have attempted to replace my Verizon email account with an AOL email

access web pages using SeaMonkey...my access to this support group is

settings that I have read about and nothing makes a connection to AOL
via SeaMonkey. Can someone point me or give me simple directions for
how to access my AOL messages on SeaMonkey?
Would it be easier for me to abandon SeaMonkey and and move to have my
AOL email delivered to Thunderbird? If so, I will need simple-to-
follow instructions as to how to make that happen.
My operating system is Windows 10 and my SeaMonkey version is version
2.53.1
Please help me with simple-to-follow instructions.

You have a usern...@aol.com email account or are trying to use your
usern...@verizon.net email address with AOL mail?
I can agree that I have an email address at AOL and it is
usern...@verison.net. I agreed/selected some two years ago to retain my
original Verizon email address over a new AOL email address. I made
this selection because I thought it would save me a lot of time
informing people about a new email address. Also, I was uneasy about my
technical skill that I thought would be needed to change "things" in my
computer to make a new address work. I'm not sure, in light of my
situation today, that I made a wise choice to continue to use my Verizon
address. Bottom line..I have never had a usern...@aol.com email address.
That won't work.
I'm not sure I understand what won't work. I continue to use my
original usern...@verizon.net address when I send/retrieve my email from
AOL...and it continues to work in the AOL's mail system. >
Have you read the SeaMonkey Known Issues and attmpted this fix.
After creating a news account through clicking a news URL, the MailNews
account wizard may be broken (the account type will always be News). To
work around the problem, set the mail.server.serverX.valid pref (where X
is the internal number of the corresponding news account) to true in
about:config, or delete the invalid news account (bug 521861).
No, I have not read the SeaMonkey Known Issues and attempted a fix. I
will do a search for SeaMonkey bug fixes and see if I can locate bug fix
521861. Hopefully I will find this item and that it communicates a fix I
can understand. As i stated in my response to Paul in Houston...I am
and user of a computer and have very limited technical computer skills.
Why can't you use SeaMonkey for newsgroups?
Simply put, I have attempted to access this mailgroup repeatedly and all
I get is a long period of a blank screen followed by a timed out
message. I can't download newsgroup messages, respond or create
messages when using SeaMonkey...it's as if it is dead.
I finally gave up on trying to find a fix for my problems and then set
up Thunderbird in an attempt to find guidance on how to make every thing
work once more.
I appreciate your help and I do apologize to you and all of the other
responders for my lack of responsiveness during my earlier cry for help
on this newsgroup. I was lost as to how to make my newsgroups work on
SeaMonkey...thus, I was fighting to keep my head above water at that
time. I am not much better of now than I was at that time...but I am
now able to access this newsgroup via Thunderbird.

P.S. I presented more details about my dilemma in my earlier message to
Paul in Houston, TX...also in this thread.
