Hi all,
I understand that Jack has left the ebase gang. This would explain why I
didn't get an answer to the question below. I wonder if there's anyone out
there who can help me. I created this problem by not having current
backups of all files before the big crash. Now I'm paying the price.

Thanks,
Jenny

My note to Jack....

A while back, I reported that ebase had crashed badly and after recovery
some error messages started popping up. You fixed the problems but rightly
warned that there might be others. I have saved all the new data info I've
entered elsewhere but, due to a bulk email that generated tremendous
response and an upcoming newsletter mailing deadline, I REALLY don't want
to return back to the before-data-entry place. If these two problems I'm
having now can't be fixed any other way, then we'll find a way to live with
them. Here're the current problems:

1) Whenever I try to add any information to an already existing record, I
get an error message that says,"This record was not added correctly. You
must now run the Create Related Records Script...." When I click "yes",
the new information is accepted. This will happen on every "page" of a
record. This does not happen when I create an entirely new record. It
also doesn't happen if I try to alter a record that was created after the
crash.

2) I can no longer automatically create bulk emails. The addresses are
pasted onto my clipboard (thank heavens!) but there seems to be no link
with eudora. I have to manually create the email, cutting and pasting the
message. I also get a request to choose my "profile". When I select my
name and mark the box asking that this be the default profile, it doesn't
seem to take. Next time I get the same request and the box isn't ticked.

Like I said, I will live with these problems if there's no other way to fix
but going back to where I was a month ago. Aside from the hassle tho, the
biggest problem is letting anyone else work with our database while it's
this quirky.
