But, if I'm sending out an appeal (for membership, or donations, or 
subscriptions), anything that confuses the sales message is 
detrimental. Most of the people to whom these messages will be sent 
have no idea about our internal management concerns, nor should they. 
The ebase signature would simply weaken the sales message.
