Colin:

This is indeed a limitation with Filemaker, but it can be overcome
using an intermediate "join" file.

I won't go into the technique here, (unless there is sufficient
demand to do so), but it is covered in several sites and publications
that discuss more advanced Filemaker programming techniques.
