[freenet-support] error in log when starting

I get this error, and subsequently cannot connect to the fproxy... even 
though it says the daemon started properly:

^HException in thread "main" java.io.IOException: couldn't create native 
directory
       at 
freenet.fs.dir.NativeFSDirectory.<init>(NativeFSDirectory.java:717)
       at freenet.node.Main.main(Main.java:541)

Anybody know how to fix this please?
