We have widespread reports of serious problems with 1165: failure to bootstrap
on opennet, etc. This seems to be caused by the NullPointerException's in
PeerNode that was fixed weeks ago in trunk but never released. I should have
done a release at the time with only that change. Anyway, 1166 is now
available. If you have this bug (manifested by continual ERRORs about
NullPointerException's in the logs, and probably a failure to connect to, or
at least to communicate with, opennet peers), you will probably have to
upgrade manually using update.sh / update.cmd. It is also possible that your
update.sh/update.cmd is old and broken; it should update itself and then
work, but if it doesn't, please fetch a new version from here:
https://checksums.freenetproject.org/latest/update.sh
https://checksums.freenetproject.org/latest/update.cmd
(Add .sig to get automated gpg sigs)

PLEASE UPGRADE ASAP!

If this is as bad as it looks we may have lost a _lot_ of users through it. :<

I'm sorry ... I should have pushed a release out as soon as the NPE was fixed.
We haven't had consistent strong bug reports until today though... we have
had some very worrying signs relatively recently though. And I haven't been
following FMS, since the version that I was using has been deprecated and I
haven't got around to reviewing a current version yet; that probably didn't
help either.

Please forward this message to FMS.
