How much actual RAM does the machine have? The Bloom filter memory requirements on salted-hash may be pushing Freenet into swap, that's one plausible explanation.
Also, is this specifically a 1210 problem? How did it behave with 1209? Also, was it rebuilding the bloom filters or resizing the store at the time?
