Before I tried that I discovered that "store type" was set to "ram". The
installer
must have set this despite the warning "Only use ram if you know what you are
doing and have enough RAM to store all your data", I certainly did not. (I used
the
headless installer.) I changed it to "salt-hash" and raised "store size" from
10MiB
to 1000MiB. That reduced memory usage by about 20-30MB, and it doesn't seem
to grow anymore.
Uninstalling the library plugin and restarting the node didn't have a huge
effect.
Maybe a few MB less RAM is used now.
