Hi, I complained earlier about the disk noise that was caused by freenet accessing the disk constantly, and have found a very good solution so I wanted to share this: I placed my store file in a RAM disk with great success. Freenet runs completely quietly now.
I'd like to ask you about some of the errors that freenet routinely gives me, it would be great to have a page that describes what the different errors mean, and if something can be done to fix them. I'm running freenet on Win XP Pro SP1 Consecutive Same Winner: sometimes I get tens of thousands of this. Mostly just a few hundred. Is it something that can be fixed? Recently I've also been getting: Got a TWCM that was not finished!: and also Got a trailer chunk ahead of our time!: Are these indicating some problem with my setup? Also I have a couple questions about optimization: Are there optimal TCP/IP settings to increase freenet performace such as maybe TCP Receive window or TTL? I already follow all the things that the Wiki contains, such as dyndns, port forwarding, etc. And finally I usually use 200 threads in FUQID, would having too many threads somehow negatively affect performace, or what with be the right amount with on a 512K ADSL??
