there are free services that provide "dynamic DNS service" for your 
dynamic IP address, sort of doing the "email every morning" part (not 
literally), making your IP address appear static, I don't know the 
details (like if you have to have a _registered_ domain name), but many 
on another support list recommend it, so maybe check   yi.org  or  
dyndns.org
