Is there a way to change an already entered payment that was
marked dues when it should have been marked as a contribution?
Yes-- You
go to the payment record "Payment entry" form and change the Payment For
field from dues to contribution. Be sure and delete the dues start date or
you'll still be seeing an expirations date!
