I know about NameLine but that >is too much info, I just want to use Mr., Mrs., Docotor, etc.... Merge fields are handled in source codes and emails is handled differently than in layouts. In order to make at least a limited merge capability available to those using the runtime, the designers arranged for the body of the message to be held in a text field. The names of merge fields (for example <<FIRST NAME 1>>) are inserted in the text field, then replaced with the values of the fields using Set Field script commands. So, you can't just add fields to the list without changing the scripts. >We are using Ebase with File Maker Pro. Since you have FileMaker, it is probably a better plan for you to customize a solicitation letter layout using the standard merge field protocol. Details on that in the FileMaker manual on layouts. > >Thank you, > >James > >------------------ >Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to >http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter >the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] >--------------------------------------------------------------------- > ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org >--------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Dave Shaw Northwest Classics, Inc tel: 206-954-7526 fax: 206-625-1338 ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
