You need to be using FileMaker Pro to open ebase to have access to these
functions. If you are using the runtime version of FileMaker that is
provided free with ebase, you will not have access to these functions.

(There is no other password above "master". And Walt is right, changing one
password in one file means you have to change them in all files, which is
why it is scripted. Otherwise, you end up disabling parts of the
application. I did not do the programming, but it may be that "Access
Privileges" was turned off at the file level for this very reason.)

Passwording, and providing limited access to certain features and functions
in ebase on a person by person basis, is one of the most often requested
upgrades for version 2. Clif Graves, our lead programmer, has designed and
implemented a very nice solution, which will be released in a public beta in
September (we are currently conducting alpha testing in house).
