Susan,
Read comments below for answers to your questions.
1. Do I have a wrong version eBase?
The downloaded copy of ebase is a self-contained full version of the
membership management system. You must enter a password to access ebase
and you must be aware that the downloaded "Runtime" software can only be
run from the local computer, not across a network, unless you purchase
FileMaker Pro and install that on the other workstations on your network.
Available Passwords:
Master - Full Administrator Access (Only for full version FileMaker Pro
users)
Layout - Access to change screen and report layouts (Only for full version
FileMaker Pro users)
Admin - Lets you setup ebase, but not customize layouts
User - lets you work with the data, but not setup ebase or customize
layouts
2. Do I need to buy eBase software?
No, eBase comes complete and ready to use. The only 'purchase' required is
a full copy of FileMaker Pro should you want to change the design of the
screens or change the functionality of the software. eBase is written
using the FileMaker Pro database management system but is provided with the
'Run-Time' version of FileMaker Pro. Should you want to access the
database from a workstation other than the one eBase is installed on,
across a network, you will require FileMaker Pro be installed on the other
workstation.
3. As I understand eBase from your website is not complete. Incorrect,
eBase is a complete membership management system, ready for setup and data
entry. The copy of eBase you downloaded is complete in very way and is
supplied with the Runtime version of FileMaker Pro.
Hope this answers your questions and gets your user going.

I am unable to have one of my eBase user to access eBase.
Do I have a wrong version eBase? Do I need to buy eBase software? As I
understand eBase from your website is not complete.
How do I get the complete version on the latest?

Jana -
ebase comes set up with 4 password levels:
master - lets you do everything - customize, setup passwords, etc.
layout - lets you customize layouts
admin - lets you setup ebase, but not customize layouts
user - lets you work with the data, but not setup ebase or customize
layouts
See the Administrator's manual for more about these password levels.
Unless you have changed the passwords (which you can do in the "Admin"
section of ebase), these four passwords will open the database for you.
Your consultant probably needs to use the master password.
