There are a couple of ways to do broadcast faxing via ebase.
Method #1 - Using Faxaway, an email-based faxing service. It's a
subscription service ( go to www.faxaway.com for more info) that winds up
costing a bit over $.10 per page anywhere in the country. There is only
one method in ebase for automatically building the Faxaway email(s), and
that is by using the "Preferred Method" option on the Output Screen. In
order for this to work correctly, you need to have done some prior setup:
- First, establish an account with Faxaway.
- Next, make sure that you've provided a fax number (including the area
code) for all appropriate records.
- Then, on the Activist screen, select "Fax" in the Contact By field for
these records.
- Finally, when you wish to send the fax, go to Output->Preferred
Method. Build your message, then hit the "Send Faxes" button.
Method #2 - If you have faxing software, it may allow you to do "Fax
Merges". In this case, you'd want to export the field "Fax Number" as well
as any other fields pertinent to your fax to a text file that could then be
merged into your faxing software. Then do your work in the faxing software.
