I agree with Walt, this is the most likely scenario. If that doesn't solve it, there are a couple other possibilities. One is that there are other copies of ebase (containing only Marshall's record) on or accessible to your computer. FileMaker may look in unsuspected places for files, so never keep copies that are accessible. Do a search on all accessible drives for Names_.102 (don't forget the underscore). If you find other copies, delete, zip/stuff or rename all the duplicate .102 files. Also, make certain that the backup you copy is really a backup with your data in it and not just a clean installation of ebase that was backed up in error. The files all look alike until they're opened.
