Yes that should work. I do it all the time from PC to PC but the file
formats are identical between Mac and PC. Email is not a very useful way of
moving the file however. It will work with a few hundred records but you
will quickly have files that are too big for email. Remember you have to
copy all 27 files as a set so zip or stuffit are the best way to go.

There is no way to make them correspond and leave you with a functioning
ebase. Those numbers are what are used for the relationships between all the
files. Entry number is just the relative record number within that
particular file, e.g. names. The physical records are in entry order. If you
want them in some other order you have to sort them each time you want to
see them in some sorted order. The record numbers are permanently assigned
as you create new records. So they work as a permanent idenfier for that
member, like a social security number. You will notice that those fields are
all protected so that you cannot change them.
