Now what is in your /dev/mtd4? It should be a gzipped bmp, the start should look similar to this hexdump: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# hexdump -C /dev/mtd4 00000000 1f 8b 08 08 6e 54 ff 48 02 03 73 70 6c 61 73 68 |....nT.H..splash| 00000010 2e 62 6d 70 00 ed dc d1 61 e3 30 0c 44 c1 f4 df |.bmp....a.0.D...| ... (the filename can of course differ)
