I used neotool on Ubuntu 8.04 to install FDOM. Tried USB networking. It succeeds for the first round of ping -c 2, then doesn't work any longer.
I hate to point fingers, but are there known diagnostics I can run to check the fulll physical path? my USB port, the cable, the FR USB port. ...And in other news, Dialer can't see my SIM card. That might be an AT&T issue, as I don't know if my old phone is GSM. Time to go get an extra SIM.
