 Well - to add to what Robin has to say - I made an ipk for the mplayer with
the
video patches and a (scratchy) frontend called intone-video. If nothing else
-
you get the mplayer binary (mplayer-video) installed easilt.

 Do opkg install http://www.opkg.org/packages/intone-video_0.10_arm.ipk.
