Hey, I recommend using the latest version of qi. I had to do this to get the sd card to work after my buzz fix. I used the sd card method to upgrade my gsm. (note, you gotta wait a long time for it to work, patience with the gsm upgrade.
I personally use the latest image version of SHR unstable, I think it's by far the most reliable and usable. In the latest image opkg is a bit buggy (I have to use opkg-cl instead) and manually reinstall all the packages, though I forget the command to do that (it was on the wiki I think) Let me know if that helps.
