When you say another box does DNS you have turned on dynamic dns?
Also, you say you use beta 2 but I simply cannot find anywhere where
dhcpd.leases is pointing in the wrong location:
$args .= " -l {$g['dhcpd_chroot_path']}/var/db/dhcpd.leases" .
Which would not be /var/db/ .... Maybe you have a pre-release version
of beta2 or a snapshot. Please show us the version info when you log
into the unit.
