I use 1.0.1 but 1.2b1 has the same problem. Any idea what can be wrong ? Thank you

I have a problem changing the cp login page. I can upload an html file and I see
the changes. But if the html file has a size > 2kb ist does not work anymore. I
can upload the file - this is working fine - but the auth-page will not be shown
anymore. After some time I'll get a timeout. I can not find any error in the
lighttpd.error.log.
