Hi! I know it's a stupid question, but do you have Guifications
installed? Or another notifications plug-in? If i remember correctly
pidgin doesn't have this feature by default.

Which protocols? All of your buddies or just some? Are you sure the
buddies are actually sending that information? Many clients allow
disabling the sending of typing notification.
