the gtk build-in searchbox has a wordaround. simply click on the contact list, type the letters which will match the contact you want to find.
but it has also limitation, which means it doesn't have the filter functionality that gtalk or dolphin has already had, it starts to search from the first letter of your contact's name, so you have to type a little bit more. because I have aliases for all my contacts(in order of family name, first name, or a short id), so this way just works for me now.:D On Wed, Jul 30, 2008 at 4:25 PM, Kevin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>wrote: > New question #40741 on pidgin in ubuntu: > https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+question/40741 > > HI > > When I use yhe pidgin, I find that it is so hard to find my friend, if > there are a search box on the pidgin, that will be wonderful. > > You can see the google talk/msn, there are a search box, especially the > google talk search box is very fast,I like it very much. > > -- > You received this question notification because you are a member of > Pidgin Support, which is an answer contact for pidgin in ubuntu. > > _______________________________________________ > Support mailing list > [email protected] > http://pidgin.im/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support >
