Dakota Bird spake unto us the following wisdom: > Hi, I'm new to IRC with pidgin, and pretty new to irc in general. I'm trying > ot use a BNC by entering a command using... > > /server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx pppp username:bncCode
As you have seen, Pidgin does not have a /server command. You need to
create a new account of type IRC, with the server set to
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port pppp, nick username and password bncCode.
That said, only bncs which behave *exactly* like a standard irc daemon
in most respects will work with Pidgin.
Also, upgrade.
