Thanks for the info Sulabh.  I am still however concerned about privacy.  As
you can see in my original email (below) I only sent an email to
[email protected]  I don't know of any "lists".  I don't even have any
contacts yet.  I did however change my password as you suggested.

You should click "reply all" instead of "reply" so that the support list
receives your reply and not just the last person.

Probably accidentally you have posted your password to the whole list, so
you might first of all want to change it.



About not connecting, you will have to provide us with the debug log so that
we can take a deeper look, you can do this by doing exactly the following:

Once you have pidgin running, follow these steps:

1.  Go to accounts > manage accounts. 
2.  Disable that specific account you are having problems with
3.  Open the debug window, from Help > Debug Window
4.  With debug window open, from the accounts dialog, re enable that
specific account.
5.  Wait a while for the problem to show up.
6.  Now, in the debug window click on save, and save to a file.
7.  Either send that file to us through email, or copy the contents to the
mail, or file a ticket on the pidgin site.
