well the only ctrl-char that works is ctrl-c for closing. I'll try esc-char next time I'm on my box. If this works, the man pages should be updated to note the different behavior on FreeBSD (or perhaps a FreeBSD specific manpage). > I've run finch on FreeBSD under screen numerous times this way.
