Did you try the official "install-version" of Pidgin?

I'm running:
Pidgin 2.6.6
(libpurple 2.6.6)
with the portable apps system.
Aim Connects just fine, but yahoo doesn't, I went to look at the debug
messages to see if it was failing to connect and that doesn't appear to be
the case. Looks like it gets to the yahoo server, the server says bad data
and drops the connection. Any one got an Idea what I can do about this?
