Hi D.D.,

Sorry I was not more clear - I did not have this behavior in 2.7.1, and do have
it in 2.7.2 - my

currently installed version.

You are right about the plugin being the cause. I unchecked the 'Dockable
Buddy
List' option
in the 'Windows Pidgin Options' plugin and the behavior stopped. I did add a
few plugins while
upgrading to 2.7.2. I did not consciously enable the docking option of this
plugin when doing so,
but I guess enabled must (unfortunately) be the default.

Thanks very much!
John

Two wrongs - 2.7.3 is the current release, and what you describe only
happens, because it is enabled by a plugin. Not by default, so you or
somebody else activated it purposly.
You can find the corresponding plugin inside the plugin directory, it is
called "Windows Pidgin Options" - disable "docking".

Regards,

D.D.
