I have had Pidgin recent installed on my pc at work.

You need to ask the person who installed it. Hopefully they know which service you are using, which version of Pidgin, which OS, etc., and may also be able to make use of Pidgin's debugging features.

My buddy list is fine and I can see those users. However for some reason I do not show up to anyone else on their list when I'm signed in.

Please can you enlighten me how I can change this?

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
