Hi David, this is the screen shot. There is no error message. It just freezes at this stage?

Thanks

Hi, my Pidgin live chat wont work. I have tried to send you screenshots but your moderator wont allow them due to size.

I've seen enough screenshots on the mailing list that I'm certain that it does accept ones of reasonable size, however, it is usually much better to copy down the actual text of error messages. Certainly the debug window contents is plain text, and can be cut and pasted as such.

You've basically not provided any information. If by live chat, you are referring to one of the brandings of the MSN chat service, I think the only known significant problem when using Pidgin 2.7.11, is with file transfer.

Factors that are likely to be important are:

- the version of Pidgin
- the OS and version
- the service or services that are suffering problems
- the exact wording of the error message
- whether the official client for that service works
- anything that might limit network connectivity (most businesses and some ISPs impose restrictions)

In many cases, the contents of the debug window (in which you should minimally obscure sensitive information) is helpful.

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
